What Frenchies are worth the most? ›

The rarest colors of French Bulldogs are blue, lilac, blue and tan, and chocolate and tan. Add that Merle coats. A blue merle is perhaps the rarest of them all. In a world where a standard French Bulldog costs several thousand dollars, these rare colors can sell for tens of thousands.

Due to their narrow hips, top-heaviness and weak back legs, French bulldogs typically can't mate on their own. Reproducing requires artificial insemination. And due to the breed's large head and narrow hips, mothers often require a C-section to deliver. These factors increase the investment for French bulldog breeders.

They're not overly energetic dogs, and so around 45-60 minutes per day should be all they need. As with most breeds, splitting this exercise over two shorter walks per day is recommended to keep them mentally stimulated as well as physically.

French Bulldogs display strong unwillingness for training, making exercise stressful and frustrating for the them and the human at times. While they are playful and gentle, their stubbornness is on another level compared to other dog breeds and can be challenging to train at times.

To make sure that you get a purebred French Bulldog, look for these characteristics: Dome-shaped skull with bat-like ears. Muscular body and small legs. Flat face and squashed nose.

The female French Bulldog is usually more expensive than the male especially with breeding rights and AKC papers.

But, many dogs are good at adapting to being alone for 8-9 hours while you are at work if they are provided with enough space to move around comfortably. The Basset Hound, French Bulldog, Chihuahua, and Pugs are typically the best breeds for being left alone for long periods of time.

A general guideline is to feed adult French bulldogs 1 to 2 small meals per day, with the total daily amount ranging from 1 to 2.5 cups of high-quality, commercial dog food, depending on their individual needs. Puppies and older dogs may require slightly more or less food.

Start with basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” “come,” and “no.” Keep it simple and always be consistent with your commands and rewards. Consistency is key: Frenchies thrive on routine, so make sure you set a regular feeding, playtime, and training schedule from the start.

Most puppies start to calm down as they approach their maturity age, which is usually around 12 months, but for larger breeds it can be more likely to occur between 18 months and 2 years.

A reminder that we should never grab a dog by their arms, and that we are protecting and stabilizing the frenchie's spine at all times. So for the buddha, I make sure that we are holding the frenchie by their chest and just stabilizing their bottom part with the other arm. No weight is being applied on the bottom.

The rarity of the French bulldog's color greatly affects its price. Typical Frenchie colors, like a fawn, are less expensive than the merle Frenchie as the latter is rare.

Adoption or Buying: $2500 – $4500

Going for rarer colors; lilac, chocolate, merle, or tan will likely raise the price significantly. A blue or fluffy-coated Frenchie with orange eyes could cost between $8,000 to $10,000.

Generally, French bulldogs will be happier when they have another Frenchie for a companion. They will keep each other company, exercise each other and a bonus is that they can be left alone together for longer periods of time.
