Christmas Eve Children Nativity Details

This Sunday December 24th your children are invited to dress up like characters from the nativity (angels, shepherds, animals, kings, etc) to participate in the first part of the worship service with our guest musician. The service will be held at the regular morning worship time, 10:30am. Please arrive between 10-10:15am to allow time for your child to put on their costume and be ready to start at 10:30am.

The goal is to have fun and help our kids connect with the Christmas story in a meaningful way. It is designed to be low stress and low key. Costumes go over clothes

To that end, there is a chance for your little ones to try on their costumes in advance and run through their part in the service one time on Thursday Dec. 21 from 6 sharp to 6:30pm (right before choir practice). If you think your child(red) might be nervous about participating, this is a chance for you to help them get more comfortable ahead of time.

If you cannot make the rehearsal, you are still welcome to participate! Just come Sunday morning on Dec. 24 between between 10-10:15am to the education office and we’ll help your child select a costume. The kids will participate with the musician through the children’s sermon time. At that point, children 0-5 years are welcome to play in the nursery or return to sit with their family in the pews.

We are hoping this will be a nice Christmas memory for your whole family, as well as a way for you to bring up family conversations about what Christmas means to us as people of faith.

Please contact Alicia Taylor-Byers, director of Christian Education and Outreach, with any questions or concerns. Please, do not hesitate to ask if you need any special accommodations for children in your family to participate. We want to be as inclusive as possible.

Sincerely,

 Alicia Taylor-Byers
