Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner – Tuesday, February 9th

MARK YOUR CALENDAR  – Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner, Tuesday February 9th  Thanks to the Pendery Family and First Watch, the pancake batter, syrup, and butter will be donated for our   Shrove/Mardi Gras Dinner.  To defray costs for the sausage, beverages, and decorations, donations will be collected in the Narthex and back hall by the coffee. Any money not used for supplies will be donated to the Illumination Youth Group.  If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Linda Gracey at (859) 380-1599 or LLG1216@aol.com.

Cookout Sept. 11, Oktoberfest Sept. 12

Come on out to Oktoberfest on the church grounds, 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday Sept. 12.  The night before, 5 to 11 p.m. Friday Sept. 11, we’ll have a cookout with craft beer and live music as a pre-festival party. Perfect for after the Highlands game that night. Get all the details!

Tutors – Washington UCC

During the school year, volunteers are needed to tutor at Washington UCC’s Homework Club. Washington UCC is located at 2950 Sidney Avenue, Cincinnati. The Homework Club is an after-school tutoring program from 4-5:30 pm Monday – Thursday for children age 5-12. The children eat a light meal, then work one-on0one with volunteer tutors who help them complete their homework and do other academic enrichment activities. Volunteer tutors are asked to commit to one day a week, in order to establish an ongoing relationship with a child. Help serve a meal at ECHO soup kitchen, Henry Hosea House

Next opportunity to help serve a meal at the ECHO soup kitchen at Henry Hosea House, 901 York St. in Newport, Ky., is Sept. 27. Volunteers are needed anywhere between 3:30 and 6 p.m. You can help with everything from meal preparation to setting up the cafeteria line to washing dishes  to actually dishing up the food as people walk through the line. Children are welcome to participate with you in this ministry. Thank you for your service to those in need! Questions? Email Melissa Cox.

Vacation Bible School Needs

There are just a few things we are still in need of for VBS.

They are:

Dried banana chips

Dried fruit

M&M’s

Pretzel sticks (smaller sticks, not rods)

White chocolate chips

Vacation Bible School Needs Donations!

Our VBS program needs the following items.  Can you please help?

3 bags large marshmallows

2 bags mini marshmallows

2 bags of Bugles

2 bags of gummy bears or other small gummies

Large carton Goldfish

2 cans white icing (not whipped)

Bag potato sticks

Bag of candy corn

Bag of banana chips Large box or bag of animal crackers

Register for VBS 2015

Our 2015 Vacation Bible School in Fort Thomas, Ky.,  is 6 to 8 p.m. June 29, 30 and July 1 at Christ Church, 15 S. Fort Thomas Ave.  Join us for “Everest – Conquering Challenges with God’s Mighty Power.”  Your children will experience three fun-filled days of discovering what’s so great about God, learning to serve Him in practical ways, making new friends and running around. Vacation Bible School is free and open to any child from preschool to exiting fifth grade.
