MISSION OPPORTUNITY FOR SENIORS AND THEIR PETS – May 2015

MISSION OPPORTUNITY FOR SENIORS AND THEIR PETS – May 2015Christ Church belongs to Wesley Links, a interdenominational consortium of churches created in 2002 by Wesley Community Services to enable churches to better serve seniors.  Wesley’s Pet Portions – PetKare programs help  seniors take better care of their pets by providing free cat or dog food as well as vouchers for veterinary care. The Pet Portions program began in 2006 with the assistance and     collaboration of SPCA Cincinnati and IAMS Corporation. Last year, 23,000 pounds of pet food   was delivered to Meals on Wheels clients’ dogs and cats.  Vouchers for veterinary care are available to Meals on Wheels clients and can be redeemed at participating veterinarian offices including: Banfield Hospital, Glenway Animal Hospital, and the United Coalition for Animals (UCAN).  If you would like to contribute to these programs, please bring donations of pet food during the month of May and place them in the narthex.  If you’d prefer to make a monetary contribution, please make your check payable to Christ Church, write “Wesley Petcare” on the memo line, and drop that in the lockbox outside the office.  Thank you for your support.
